Serve as the CFO’s right hand, assuming ownership of core finance and accounting responsibilities with the opportunity to grow overtime.
Lead all audit activities and manage external auditors while strengthening internal technical accounting capabilities.
Interpret and apply current accounting standards; prepare technical accounting memoranda and complex accounting analyses in-house (work currently supported by outside advisors).
Support public company reporting requirements and ensure ongoing compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable regulatory standards.
Assess and upgrade existing processes, many of which are currently manual, and help drive systems improvements and scalability.
Oversee a Controller; anticipate building out the team further as the company grows.
Requirements
Public accounting foundation with strong technical accounting expertise.
Demonstrated experience leading audits and preparing complex accounting position papers.
Experience in publicly traded life sciences, biotechnology, or similarly capital-markets-driven environments is strongly preferred.
Track record of building infrastructure in growth-stage or pre-revenue organizations.
Strategic mindset with the ability to operate hands-on in a lean environment.
