About this role
Role Overview
Strategize and develop comprehensive medical engagement plans aligned with the scientific narrative and overall Medical Affairs strategy.
Support planning and execution of Medical Affairs engagement strategies, including national/regional congresses, sponsorships, advisory boards, and KOL engagement.
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to develop annual plans and budgets supporting congresses, symposia, sponsorships, and other Medical Affairs activities.
Coordinate with publication planning to ensure congress activities align with broader publication and data dissemination strategies.
Lead coordination, planning, and execution of all medical engagement–related congress tactics across Medical Affairs sub-functions.
Develop and execute strategic plans for pre-congress, on-site, and post-congress activities to maximize scientific and organizational impact.
Lead medical booth planning, logistics, budget tracking, and project management for major congresses.
Liaise with Medical Affairs functions to support the review, approval, and management of sponsorships for major medical meetings and conferences.
Collaborate with Global Medical Affairs Strategy and Medical Communications to develop high-quality, scientifically rigorous presentations and materials.
Implement best practices in data visualization and scientific storytelling to enhance clarity and impact.
Ensure all congress materials adhere to compliance standards, internal review processes, and data publication embargoes.
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment across all Medical Affairs congress deliverables.
Establish KPIs for congress and engagement activities; implement systems to track, analyze, and report performance.
Conduct post-congress analyses to assess impact, derive insights, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Benchmark congress presence and execution against competitors and industry best practices.
Inform and align internal stakeholders across the organization on Medical Affairs activities at major congresses and executive committee (EC) meetings.

Requirements
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, with pertinent Medical Affairs experience
12 years (or alternatively 8 years with a Master’s degree) of biopharmaceutical industry or agency experience leading the planning and execution of congress planning and advisory boards execution within the biopharma industry
Successful record of creating and managing complex project plans, timelines, budgets and critical paths
Experience in developing, communicating, and implementing a comprehensive MA congress strategy and plan
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented cross functional structure
Prior experience as a project owner in effectively navigating MLR/MRC review within a biopharma organization
Able to effectively network and partner with internal and external stakeholders including KOLs/HCPs and facilitate/promote cross-functional collaboration
Detailed understanding of industry regulations and practices relating to Medical Affairs.
