Responsible for providing specialized support in advancing the operations, culture, communications and performance of the Housing System.
Conduct research assess, and analyze complex information related to specific divisional requirements, provide recommendations that will positively impact the development, implementation and continuous improvement process for the multitude of programs in the division and support reporting, service design, programs and policies.
Responsible for providing expert guidance, and advice on the development and implementation of programs in Housing.
Provide support in response to emerging issues within Housing Services, changing business directions and new initiatives to ensure the growing needs of the Division are met.
Takes a lead in identifying, assessing, evaluating, recommending, and coordinating actions related to emerging issues, changing business directions and new initiatives to ensure the changing needs are effectively met and ensuring all services are provided in the most effective and efficient manner.
Responsible for providing strategic plans, insights, and support in advancing the culture of the Housing Services Division.
Play a key role in ensuring that Psychological Health, Safety & Wellness are promoted, understood, and embraced within the Division.
Provide recommendations to senior leadership, author reports, and lead the ASCEND (Advancing Success through Culture, Equity, Networking and Development) committee through planning and implementation of initiatives that positively impact the development and continuous improvement of culture within the Housing Services Division.
Requirements
Post Secondary education in Human Services or a related field such as housing, social policy and/or business administration, and at least 5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience in leading new approaches or processes as it relates to system operations.
Experience in leading, developing partnerships and collaborative relationships with internal and external contacts.
Analytical skills necessary for researching and interpreting broader housing system operations for adaptation within the Region and interpreting and advising on the success of operations using a process improvement methodology.
Working knowledge and experience in application of concepts and methodologies related to change management, process management, best practices, and quality assurance.
Working knowledge of legislation that directs and supports the delivery of housing and homelessness programs including but not limited to the Housing Services Act, 2011, Bill 108, The Residential Tenancies Act.
Knowledge of relevant housing and homelessness policies, programs and processes including but not limited to the National Housing Strategy, the Community Housing Renewal Strategy, etc.
Political awareness to identify and respond to situations with various parties and stakeholders involved in decision making processes, and to anticipate their likely reaction to statements, proposals, recommendations, and situations.
Extensive knowledge of multiple computer applications, including but not limited to MSOffice (advanced level-Word, Excel, PowerPoint and experience in Access, Visio, MS Project) or like.
A satisfactory Level 1 Criminal Record Check obtained directly from a police station (third-party background checks will not be accepted).
