Overall accountability for ensuring BIM, GIS and digital construction across project disciplines (Design, estimating, planning, construction) meets standards and contractual compliance.
Provide leadership, support and co-ordination across all technical work streams, during each stage of a project from design through to construction.
Technical work streams may include but are not limited to; all engineering disciplines, design management, digital engineering, sustainability, engineering surveying, asset management and industrialization.
Ensure delivery of BIM and GIS in accordance with Aecon’s IDD BIM related processes and procedures and support the Technical Compliance Director with the future developments.
Ensure the right resourcing profile for the IDD team’s on the project, based on the BIM goals set in the bid phase.
The role will manage the link between the Client’s BIM representatives, the consultant BIM team, Aecon (and any JV partner) and any sub-contractors BIM team.
The role will support the project to enable BIM outcomes to ensure the information is delivered to the program and coordinated between engineering disciplines, organizations and packages.
Ensure the BIM requirements set on the project support digital integrating across all project functions.
Report and manage the interfaces between engineering disciplines / design and construction / temporary and permanent works design activities, through BIM to support the IDD process.
To ensure validation reports to verify Information Models in accordance with ISO 19650 and the Institute for BIM in Canada toolkit.
Ensure project’s BIM training matrix is developed to the project’s needs and implemented accordingly.
Ensure the correct obligations and activities are assigned to the consultant supply chains Information Managers.
Management through contract obligations of Consultant and supply chain Information Models and Delivery Plans to support the development of federated models and against agreed deliverables to ensure supply chain BIM deliverables in line with the Aecon IDD Information Requirements and ‘Employers Information Requirements’.

Requirements
10+ years involvement in BIM implementation in large rail infrastructure construction projects.
Preference given to experience in complex P3 transit projects.
Educational and Industry experience requirements include; Engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training plus experience/knowledge of civil construction practice.
Excellent knowledge of BIM Standard’s.
Experience with model federation platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Navisworks and Bentley Navigator.
Hands on experience in authoring tools such as Autodesk Revit and Civil 3D.
Experience in the implementation of common data environments such as ProjectWise, InEight and Aconex.
Experience across all stages of a project lifecycle.
Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence etc.) skills are essential.
Proven experience in priority setting, multitasking, and working with minimal direct supervision.
