Ensure the timely setup of claims, including calculation of the initial benefit, establishing reserves, and processing life insurance premium waivers.
Calculate benefit amounts quickly and accurately and issue disability payments.
Perform simple and complex calculations, including inflation protection/indexation, cost-of-living adjustments, calculation of rehabilitation earnings and partial benefits in accordance with contractual provisions.
Perform overpayment and adjustment calculations and promptly send related correspondence, follow up on overpayments, and process refund checks.
Explain benefit and payment calculations, including tax-related issues, to clients by phone and in writing.
Produce timely follow-up correspondence related to claims with the Quebec Pension Plan (QPP) and the Canada Pension Plan (CPP).
Manage file maintenance: request and evaluate medical documentation, verify declarations of other income, and perform all necessary follow-ups.
Perform administrative and financial tasks to support management teams.
Process and reconcile data for various exception reports when discrepancies occur in systems.
Serve English-speaking clients.
Requirements
Bilingualism (proficiency in French and English) is required, as the role will regularly serve both French
and English-speaking clients.
Postsecondary education, preferably with experience in finance or business administration.
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
Demonstrated organizational and time-management abilities.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proven ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with internal and external clients in both French and English.
Strong team player who can also work independently.
Familiarity with software (e.g., Microsoft Office) and the ability to navigate the company’s various systems.
