Responsible for developing, administering and coordinating all Patient Access activities to ensure daily efficient operations and staff compliance with all policies and procedures.
Manage and direct all activities of the department by providing leadership and serving as a resource to evaluate and identify strategies for problem solving.
Develop and implement all departmental policies, procedures and goals.
Perform managerial responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring, training, conducting performance evaluations, providing disciplinary action and recommending salary increases.
Ensure high levels of performance, achievement of goals and quality of results within the department through subordinate supervisor and team leaders.
Coordinate with Case Management, Nursing and other applicable departments to facilitate smooth patient admissions and patient flow.
Oversee the admission process, placement of same day admissions and processing of patients for elective, scheduled and ER admissions.
Lead or participate in multi-disciplinary teams to improve service, processes and system functionality.
Demonstrate knowledge of all payor policies as they relate to insurance coverage and eligibility of third party payers.
Oversee the process of notifying patients of expected liabilities and collection of payments at the time of medical services.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a healthcare or business related field
Minimum of 5 years management experience in a revenue cycle or acute healthcare environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
