Lead the ongoing development, refinement, and execution of end-market strategies (3-5 years) that align with business goals to accelerate growth and increase market share
Identify customer pain points to build compelling segment-specific value propositions that drive product success, improve portfolio positioning, and translates into clear customer benefits.
Collaborate with Customers, Sales, Transfer Partners, R&D, and technical teams to identify and drive innovative opportunities.
Develop and maintain sales collateral (presentations, technical selling stories, CASE studies, sales spotlight programs, etc.) to support channel sales across distribution, sales, and transfer partners in winning business and positioning BASF in the market.
Monitor market trends, customer needs, competitor activities, and relevant regulatory changes. Convert market intelligence and insights into actionable recommendations for segment strategies, product development, pricing tactics, and go-to-market adjustments.
Own segment branding – develop consistent messaging, visual assets, and thought leadership programs that elevate perception and strengthen BASF preference.
Accountable for segment market share and profitability growth
support budgeting, forecasting and P&L analysis as needed; use financial insights to prioritize initiatives that drive profitable segment growth.
Lead and influence cross-functional teams to deliver segment growth and to capture voice of customers, while also working across the greater BASF with transfer partners.
Requirements
Hold a Bachelor’s degree (Business Administration, Marketing, Chemistry, Engineering or related field preferred). MBA or advanced degree a plus.
Bring minimum of 5 years of commercial experience in Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and/or Innovation management
Possess industry experience in chemical end-markets (preferred) – such as CASE raw materials, construction, pulp & paper, water treatment, textile, and/or chemical process is highly desirable, with demonstrated knowledge of market dynamics, customer needs, and channel structures
Have strong ability to understand product chemistry and translate technical features into clear commercial value propositions: assess technical feasibility and market fit
Bring demonstrated ability to analyze market and financial data, identify growth opportunities, prioritize initiatives for ROI, and make go-to-market decisions that drive profitable segment growth
Hold proven experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing senior management; excellent stakeholder and project management skills
Possess strong ability to analyze and interpret financial data, translating findings into actionable recommendations and using financial insights to prioritize initiatives that drive profitable segment decisions.
