Responsible for various tasks related to highway maintenance, such as repairing guardrails, cutting trees/brush, patching roads, picking litter, ditching, and more
Assist with plowing and salting during winter months
Overtime may be required
Participate in a random drug and alcohol-testing program prior to operation of vehicles or operating equipment
Work may require reporting to work outside of their area/work schedule and must be reachable by phone
Work in extreme outdoor weather conditions
Hazards present from heavy equipment, hazardous materials, and roadside litter

No education or experience required
Applicants must be at least 18 years old
A valid driver's license is required
An incumbent must live within reasonable proximity of assigned workstation
Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required for the successful completion of original probation
An incumbent must complete all VTTC required coursework within six (6) months or be enrolled
