About this role
Role Overview
Provides strategic leadership for Alberta's audit, compliance, and risk-management functions
Strengthens confidence in the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan
Ensures effective monitoring, detection, and prevention of non-compliance
Sets strategic direction and oversees audit methodologies
Ensures alignment with legislation, ministry priorities, and standards
Leads development of audit and compliance strategies
Coordinates health service and compensation related audits
Guides design and implementation of compliance processes
Provides authoritative advice to executive leadership
Requirements
University graduation in a related field (Business, Information Technology, Securities, and/or Audit Designation)
Seven years related experience
Graduate level degree in Business, Information Technology, Securities, and/or Audit Designation (asset)
Public sector experience in risk management and/or internal auditing, or finance and/or business planning (asset)
Working knowledge of the PPHS Ministry (asset)
Knowledge of the legislative policy development process (asset)
Strong planning, analytical thinking, and problem solving skills (preferred)
