Director – Audit & Compliance Assurance

Role Overview

• Provides strategic leadership for Alberta's audit, compliance, and risk-management functions
• Strengthens confidence in the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan
• Ensures effective monitoring, detection, and prevention of non-compliance
• Sets strategic direction and oversees audit methodologies
• Ensures alignment with legislation, ministry priorities, and standards
• Leads development of audit and compliance strategies
• Coordinates health service and compensation related audits
• Guides design and implementation of compliance processes
• Provides authoritative advice to executive leadership

Requirements

• University graduation in a related field (Business, Information Technology, Securities, and/or Audit Designation)
• Seven years related experience
• Graduate level degree in Business, Information Technology, Securities, and/or Audit Designation (asset)
• Public sector experience in risk management and/or internal auditing, or finance and/or business planning (asset)
• Working knowledge of the PPHS Ministry (asset)
• Knowledge of the legislative policy development process (asset)
• Strong planning, analytical thinking, and problem solving skills (preferred)
