Senior System Administrator

Role Overview

• Support the implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
• Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems
• Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution
• Provide second level problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
• Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and be involved in the resolution process
• Provide support for escalation and communication of status to management and internal customers

Requirements

• Must possess a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science (or related IT field or equivalent education)
• Must have at least 8 years of relevant Systems Administration experience
• Previous hands-on experience leading the planning, design, and implementation for network, computing and storage technologies
• Previous hands-on experience with design documents, architecture plans, construction of infrastructure systems and applications
• Previous hands-on experience as the technical lead in the design and installation of cloud-based non-production and production systems
• Previous hands-on experience managing existing hardware/software configurations and documenting solutions, including build and maintenance plans
• Previous hands-on experience installing O/S releases and system upgrades, evaluating and installing patches and resolving software-related problems
• Previous hands-on experience maintaining files and monitoring system configuration to ensure data integrity
• Previous hands-on experience proactively managing and supporting all non-production and production environments
• Previous hands-on experience providing technical support required to maintain configuration control files
• Previous hands-on experience identifying and resolving errors or problems with existing programs
• Strong working level knowledge of Network Architecture (WAN/LAN/Capacity Planning / Data Center Topologies), Database Technologies and Storage Architecture
• Strong technical knowledge of operating systems including Windows/Linux (RedHat)
• Strong technical knowledge of Virtualization technologies (AppLogic, VMWare) and Web Server technologies (IIS, Apache)
