About this role
Role Overview
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the UNITED policies and applicable laws
Interview, hire, and train associates
Plan, assign, and direct work
Appraise performance
Address complaints and resolve problems
Builds positive associate morale
Ensure financial controls are followed
Prepare month end financial close out and monthly reconciliations
Ensure necessary journal entries are posted in a timely manner
Complete assigned balance sheet reconciliations
Monitor financial postings for accuracy
Participate in projects related to updates, modifications, or enhancements to financial systems – SAP S4 and Blackline
Review internal controls and provide input for potential changes to standard operating procedures
Stand in as the liaison between USD and the business in areas related to general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets
Provide financial analysis and information as needed
Requirements
Minimum age 18 years old
Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
Ability to read, write and speak English
Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university in Accounting; 3-5 years related experience and/or training;
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles required
Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
SAP or ERP system experience preferred
Blackline experience preferred
Effective written communication skills
Ability to analyze and problem solve
Frequent sitting
Repeated typing/keyboarding
Ability to travel to other sales centers within the division as needed
