About this role
Role Overview
Lead engineering analysis and design for river engineering and natural systems restoration projects, for both private and public clients
Lead engineering analysis and design for urban drainage and surface water management projects, for both private and public clients
Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs of riverine, valley-land, wetland, and shoreline restoration works
Conduct specialized hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
Support river engineering and environmental assessment tasks
Provide resident engineering and contract administration support for construction projects
Successfully manage project budgets, invoicing, scheduling, change management, and client management
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
Provide technical support and mentoring to junior team members
Prepare technical reports, technical memoranda, and work plans
Requirements
5+ years of experience in water resources and river engineering
Professional Engineer designation with PEO is required
Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Water Resources/Environmental Engineering, or related field
Experience in writing technical reports and proposals, and giving presentations to multi-stakeholder groups
Knowledge of current regulations, legislation and permitting
Experience with design and drafting software such as ArcGIS and AutoCAD would be an asset
Experience with various water resources modeling software (i.e., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWAT, HSP-F, EFDC) would be considered an asset
Self-motivated individual, possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills
A valid Class G driver’s license with no restrictions and a clean driving record.
