Working as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team including software, hardware, and systems engineering, the candidate will be responsible for engineering management of a project or portfolio of projects involving modern integrated naval and marine communication systems.
The candidate will be expected to work with project management, customer stakeholders, and with internal design, supply chain, production, and verification teams to successfully complete project engineering outputs.
Success criteria for this role will include achieving project milestones, delivering systems that are technically compliant and fit for purpose, and meeting schedule and budget commitments.
Become familiar with customer provided system requirement documents and statements of work.
Work with the project manager, customers and stakeholders to manage engineering deliverables.
Plan and oversee systems, hardware, and software engineering activities.
Prioritize engineering activities.
Write and/or review technical contents for documentation deliverables.
Manage technical documentation including technical specifications, design, manufacturing and test/verification documents.
Manage budget and resources as the control account manager for assigned engineering activities.
Contribute to process improvements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of systems engineering processes
Experience working in the defence sector
Experience working in naval or marine environments
Knowledge of or experience with control account management
Knowledge of voice and data communication, radio communication, and/or satellite communication systems
Basic knowledge of project management
Strong knowledge of the job area, such as having a specialty within the field of integrated communications
User experience with defence communications – ideally within the naval environment
Licensed Professional Engineer or other relevant professional certification.
