The Technical Editor/Writer will provide writing and editorial support for a government agencies program operation, monitoring, compliance, and reporting activities
The Technical Editor/Writer, within the monitoring division, will author and disseminate content related to policy statements, guidance, and memoranda, along with general information pertaining to program related operations
Conduct quality assurance reviews of correspondence, reports, presentations, and other written communications
Drafts new and reviews existing content to include reports, letters, memoranda, presentations, webpages, news items, and additional documents as needed
Contributes to the development of monitoring and compliance-oriented reports and deliverables, ensuring that documents conform to agency standards regarding quality, format, and style
Remains current on relevant government programs to assess the accuracy of written materials, ensuring that information is up to date and that research sources are appropriately cited
Assists with the dissemination of information using a variety of online platforms
Ensures digital communication products and activities adhere to all applicable federal agency policies and procedures, including compliance with Section 508 and the Plain Language Act
Reviews and remediates written content to ensure adherence to accessibility standards
Recommends appropriate formatting and platform for information dissemination based on target audiences
Interfaces with both internal and external stakeholders on the development, refinement, and completion of written materials
Supports the completion of assignments requiring both technical and creative writing efforts
Manages multiple writing and review assignments concurrently, ensuring adequate completion within established due dates
Participates in meetings as required and assists with additional duties as assigned
Requirements
Requires a BA/BS in a related discipline and at least 6 years of writing and editing experience
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Demonstrated working knowledge across Microsoft Office suite and Adobe tools
Experience adhering to 508 accessibility and Plain Language requirements
Strong technical acumen and research skills
Project management skills
Experience in print and/or web publishing
Experience working with refugee, immigrant, or underserved populations preferred
