Role Overview
The Vice President of Billing is responsible for the strategic direction, performance, and long‑term transformation of AssetMark’s billing organization.
This leader oversees all aspects of the firm’s billing operations, including pricing and fee governance, billing execution, revenue accuracy, advisor compensation, operational controls, and the systems that support these functions.
As the leader accountable for end‑to‑end billing outcomes, the VP sets the vision for scalable, technology‑enabled processes, establishes operational standards, drives innovation, and ensures that the billing function supports AssetMark’s strategic priorities and growth.
Establish long‑term vision and strategy for the billing function aligned with firm goals and growth strategy.
Drive enterprise‑level data governance and quality standards for billing, revenue, and payment data, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and trust across all internal and external stakeholders.
Execute the multi‑year billing systems and process roadmap in partnership with Wealth Solution, ProdEng, and Finance.
Partner with the COO and CPTO to craft compelling performance and scalability narratives across the business.
Lead enterprise advisory billing execution on Redi2 (or comparable advisory billing platforms), including tiered fee schedules, householding logic, breakpoint calculations, and advisor compensation workflows.
Ensure fiduciary‑grade billing controls, auditability, and compliance with SEC/FINRA requirements, SOC 1/SOX standards, and custodial policies.
Foster a culture of process excellence, innovation and data-driven decision making within the billing operations process.
Define, manage, and report on key performance metrics such as SLA adherence, advisor satisfaction, and team engagement.
Serve as a senior strategic partner to Finance, Wealth Solution, ProdEng, Legal, Compliance, Trading, Reporting, and Advisor Services.
Oversee key vendor and custodian relationships (Redi2, Fidelity, Schwab, Pershing) including senior‑level interactions, escalations, and quarterly business reviews.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or related field.
12–15+ years in billing, revenue operations, or financial operations within financial services or other regulated industries.
6–10+ years of progressive leadership, including leading senior managers and multi-functional teams.
Deep expertise with enterprise billing platforms; experience with Redi2 strongly preferred or comparable advisory billing systems.
Working knowledge of revenue recognition and fee billing in advisory/wealth contexts and internal control frameworks.
Experience with advisory fee schedules, tiered pricing, breakpoint logic, and householding preferred
Proven track record delivering system modernization, automation, and data quality improvements across complex environments.
Exceptional executive communication, stakeholder management, and vendor/custodian management skills.
Analytical, metrics-driven leader with demonstrated KPI design and performance management discipline.
