Detailed design for transportation infrastructure projects, including municipal roads, highways, LRT/BRT corridors, and active transportation facilities.
Develop engineering drawings and models using MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
Prepare and review design documents, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for roadways, intersections, and transit facilities.
Conduct road safety and traffic operations analysis to inform design decisions (not planning studies).
Coordinate and integrate utility, drainage, and grading designs in collaboration with other engineering disciplines.
Ensure all designs are compliant with applicable standards and guidelines (e.g., TAC, Ontario Traffic Manuals, MTO requirements).
Support the preparation of tender packages and respond to contractor inquiries during construction.
Perform quality checks for technical accuracy and completeness prior to submittal.
Mentor junior staff in design tasks and technical best practices.
Maintain effective communication with clients, attend design meetings, and deliver technical presentations if required.
