About this role
Role Overview
Lead the enhancement and execution of the Insurance Risk Oversight Framework, aligned with regulatory expectations.
Provide oversight of insurance risk exposures, including mortality, morbidity, longevity, lapse, catastrophe, and expense risks.
Assess key actuarial assumptions and methodologies used in pricing, reserving, and capital models.
Provide independent review and feedback on new product decisions and pricing decisions.
Contribute to the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) and Stress Testing programs from an insurance risk perspective.
Develop and maintain insurance risk dashboards, KRIs, and reporting for Senior Management and relevant committees.
Monitor emerging insurance risks, insurance sector trends, and regulatory developments, and provide proactive insights and recommendations.
Evaluate reinsurance arrangements and strategies from a risk perspective and support enhancements to the reinsurance decision framework.
Review reinsurance contractual terms and clauses to ensure alignment with group-wide insurance practices and harmonization standards.
Support sectors in applying sound risk management practices, ensuring that product development decisions comply with the risk management framework.
Promote risk culture through education, training, and guidance across the organization.
Requirements
Holds a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, or any other relevant training.
Has a minimum of 8 years of experience in insurance or actuarial roles, ideally with a focus on risk management or oversight.
Strong understanding of life and health insurance products, pricing, valuation, and capital frameworks.
Analytical mindset, critical thinking, and sound judgment.
Strong communication skills and ability to influence senior management.
Writes clearly and concisely, producing well-structured reports and documentation.
Builds constructive relationships and collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams.
French speaking and writing skills are an asset.
