Research carriers, products, and services for small and middle market groups.
Assist clients with administrative setup and ongoing management of their benefits plans.
Prepare, process, review, and monitor policies, renewals, reports, applications, policy changes, billings, and contracts.
Collaborate with Producers, Account Managers, and Benefits Analysts on implementation and renewal processes.
Provide guidance and support related to state and federal compliance requirements (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, Healthcare Reform, Medicare).
Develop employee communications for open enrollment and wellness initiatives.
Maintain renewal reports, mailing lists, client data sheets, benefits booklets, and contribution sheets.
Perform marketing for small group accounts.
Conduct or assist with employee meetings (may include varying hours and locations).
Build and maintain strong carrier relationships and stay current with industry updates and offerings.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of related industry experience
Advanced knowledge of small and mid-size group benefits programs
Valid, unrestricted California Life & Disability License (with continuing education compliance)
Strong working knowledge of compliance regulations including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, Healthcare Reform, and Medicare
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and meet deadlines
Professional presence with the ability to interface confidently with executive-level clients
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-service driven environment
High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
