Production Manager

Role Overview

• Oversees all operations and sanitation-related activities across all shifts within the facility
• Monitors and tracks production performance and key performance metrics
• Leads process improvements throughout the manufacturing operation
• Provides process expertise, mentoring and direction to support manufacturing goals and objectives
• Ensures shift compliance with all safety, food safety, quality, SQF, GMP and USDA requirements
• Supervise Shift Managers & Supervisors/Facilitators
• Review daily shift production and operating reports
• Compile weekly production metrics reports

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management or related field is normally required
• If non-degreed, a minimum of ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Prior experience in a USDA-regulated food manufacturing environment is required, preferably with ready-to-eat processed meats
• Prior supervisory experience is required
• Knowledge of GMP and HACCP is required
• Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet)
• Previous experience with MAS 500 or related integrated manufacturing software is required
• Must possess the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, and percentages
• Must have the ability to solve problems by applying root cause problem solving methods
