Complete a minimum of 16 hours of training delivered by the Supervisor prior to beginning home visits.
Visit with families in the family's home on a twice weekly basis, demonstrating reading, play and verbal interaction behaviors with two-year-old and three-year-old children and the parent or primary caregiver.
Complete the required paperwork on a weekly basis.
Attend and participate in weekly supervisory meetings, staff meetings, individual supervision and training, as is required.
All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience working in human services required.
Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred.
At least 1 year of prior experience working with young children and parents in a community-based organization is required.
Must have demonstrated knowledge of the community being served.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, required.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, required.
Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality required.
Strong judgement and problem-solving skills, including knowing when to seek help, required.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License required.
Travel is required.
