Role Overview

• Open new claims over the phone with customers, then ensure the situation is handled immediately.
• Analyze information gathered, determine claim validity, investigate the circumstances, identify causes and reassess damage evaluations as needed.
• Interview policyholders and/or witnesses to gather their accounts of events.
• Use tools efficiently.
• Determine subrogation in claim files.
• Manage reserves effectively.
• Manage your office and priorities efficiently.
• Check the insured’s policy details to determine coverage.
• Collaborate effectively with various teams, including appraisal, underwriting and subrogation.
• Ensure effective cost management.

Requirements

• Class 5a and/or 5b claims adjuster licence
• At least one to two years of experience as a claims adjuster
• Solid understanding of insurance products
• Strong time-management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• A good understanding of the claims process
• Consistent performance and productivity
• Bilingualism (English and French): Required
