Requirements
Typically an advance degree and experience
A Ph.D. degree and about 12+ years experience, OR a MS degree and 15+ years experience, OR a BS degree and about 18+ years experience.
Has mastered technical field, is recognized as internal expert, has depth of knowledge to tackle any problem in field.
Contributes to advancing knowledge.
Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 20 years of recent experience in the nuclear safety industry through support of the Department of Energy (DOE) or the commercial nuclear industry.
Previous experience with the use and implementation of 10 CFR 830, DOE O 413.3, DOE O 420.1, and related directives and standards is required
Candidate must demonstrate personal accountability for facility/project schedules, deadlines, budgets, and the safe performance of work; and proficiency in performing Nuclear Safety Program assessments.
Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred.
Candidates involved in the preparation or review of Safety Basis documents to support DOE Capital Project within the past two (2) years are preferred.
Candidates with direct experience in the application of DOE-STD-3009-2014 and DOE-STD-1189-2016 are preferred.
Previous experience in developing, reviewing, and maintaining SRS safety basis documents is preferred.
