Serve as a senior technical representative of OpEx and its manufacturing partners, consistently demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and alignment with company standards and values.
Act as a technical escalation point for complex service issues, providing advanced diagnostics, root cause analysis, and resolution for CNC-controlled machine tools and automation systems.
Lead and execute the installation, commissioning, repair, and troubleshooting of advanced CNC machinery and integrated automation equipment in customer environments.
Diagnose and resolve highly complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic system issues with minimal oversight.
Provide advanced technical guidance to customers regarding equipment operation, preventive maintenance, safety practices, and long-term reliability.
Mentor, coach, and provide on-the-job technical training to junior Field Service Engineers, supporting skill development, knowledge transfer, and adherence to established best practices, without formal supervisory authority.
Support field operations through administrative and coordination responsibilities, including completing required documentation, submitting expense reimbursements accurately and timely, and assisting with scheduling and workload coordination for junior engineers.
Ensure all work is performed in full compliance with OpEx policies, procedures, safety standards, customer requirements, and manufacturer guidelines, recognizing this role operates as a company employee—not an independent contractor.
Communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors, internal teams, customers, and external partners regarding service activities, timelines, technical findings, and resolution plans.
Interpret, analyze, and effectively communicate technical documentation, including engineering drawings, schematics, and control diagrams.
Demonstrate advanced expertise in I/O modules, servo drives and amplifiers, motion control systems, feedback devices, and industrial control architectures.
Apply deep working knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, EtherCAT/Ethernet networking, PLC-based control systems, and industrial electronics.
Participate in leadership development, technical training, and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen individual capability and overall field service performance.
Uphold a customer-focused mindset while maintaining high service standards, consistent documentation practices, and professional conduct at all times.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Hydraulics or related field, preferred
8+ years of field service experience with CNC machinery and/or industrial automation.
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and coach junior engineers in both technical and professional development.
Advanced proficiency with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting.
Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLCs and related industrial control systems preferred.
Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to balance technical and leadership responsibilities.
Proficient in computer applications for documentation, reporting, and communication.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively as required.
