About this role
Role Overview
Responsible for interfacing directly with end-users and vendors to assess, recommend, implement, and support network solutions.
Supports the development and maintenance of network documentation.
Evaluates and recommends new technologies as they relate to the businesses network strategy.
Actively participates in network troubleshooting and support.
Documents network architectures, support procedures, and run books.
Builds and maintains relationships with end users, and other IT departments to understand business needs and network requirements.
Supports department staff in the analysis, solution, and documentation of network issues and problems.
Works with management to develop, communicate, implement, and maintain network policies, standards, and procedures.
Serves as network subject matter expert on multifunctional project teams within IT and across lines of business as required to support business needs.
Solicits feedback and provides input on department best practices and actively seeks out opportunities for improvement by following industry practices.
Continually enhances knowledge of Network engineering and company standards in order to achieve departmental success and professional growth.
Requirements
Associates degree (preferred) in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent technical experience.
CCNA, Network + or other industry recognized certifications preferred. Current or previous certifications acceptable.
Azure and/or GCP certifications preferred.
Minimum of 4 years experience as a network engineer in a health care facility, or large-scale inter-network environment. Experience with Aruba and Cisco switches, Cisco routers and SDWan, Fortinet, and Meraki preferred.
