As an Expert Application Operations Run (m/w/d), you ensure the 24/7 availability and performance of all platforms and applications you are responsible for, for end customers, customer support and other business units by analyzing and optimizing the supported systems and establishing efficient monitoring.
You coordinate and drive the independent, goal-oriented handling and resolution of highly complex incidents by collaborating with and directing development teams, external vendors and other service providers.
You support the optimization of software quality through continuous analysis of occurring errors (incident/problem management) and by conducting regular review meetings with development partners as well as the testing and delivery teams.
You support project work during feasibility, implementation and stabilization phases after go-live.
You ensure compliance with required security policies for the applications, systems and platforms you manage by analyzing access and permissions, carrying out corrective actions and supporting SOX and security audits.
You automate workflows by analyzing and optimizing procedures and methods and by continuously adapting reporting, monitoring and alerting.
You monitor system utilization (capacity management) using the tools deployed in IO and initiate corrective measures.
You independently manage, at a professional level, external staff in the Shared Service Center or external service providers to deliver services for the systems you are responsible for.
You manage, from a functional perspective, external and internal service providers and suppliers of the IT systems and the supported business processes.
Requirements
Completed degree in engineering, industrial engineering, computer science or a comparable qualification.
At least 5 years of professional experience operating complex system landscapes.
Extensive process and IT know-how in telecommunications.
Solid knowledge in: operating systems (e.g. Sun Solaris/Linux/Windows), middleware/web technologies (e.g. Tuxedo/WebLogic/Tomcat), databases (e.g. Oracle), and experience operating applications in the cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure, OCI etc.).
Strong skills in UNIX scripting and programming (Perl, PL/SQL, Python etc.).
Strong analytical, solution-oriented and entrepreneurial thinking and acting.
ITIL knowledge as well as familiarity with Kepner-Tregoe methods.
Basic network and protocol knowledge as well as experience with load balancing.
English: fluent in spoken and written (B1). German language skills desirable.
