Responsible for administering federal, multi-state, local, employee and employer payroll taxes, including research, analysis, data set-up, reconciliations, and preparation of tax returns in a timely and accurate manner.
Prepares weekly Payroll tax balancing and submit reports to outsourced tax vendor.
Performs weekly internal Payroll tax audits and process tax adjustments as needed to ensure accurate quarterly tax reporting for federal, state, and local tax returns including unemployment, state/local withholding, and annual returns.
Prepares and files all annual tax returns, including W2s, Form 940.
Reviews/audits quarterly reports for unemployment, state/local withholding, and annual returns; submits quarterly tax reports to outsourced tax vendors.
Collects payroll tax downloads, balances payroll tax data and processes deposits timely from multiple sources.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; or equivalent experience is required.
3-5 years of tax experience in Payroll for a large, multi-state employer with at least one year of accounting experience preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliation required.
Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws and reporting requirements and previous payroll processing experience required.
Experience working with Workday, JDE, and ADP preferred.
In house Tax experience preferred.
Payroll processing experience preferred.
