Role Overview
- Supporting MAG’s research, advocacy and engagement with government ministers, civil servants and MPs
- Tracking and responding to policy risks, legislative and regulatory changes that affect airports
- Collaborating with colleagues and subject matter experts (SMEs) across the business
- Producing credible policy positions to government
- Drafting reports and consultation responses
- Representing MAG’s views to external stakeholders at meetings and events
- Overseeing a library of resources and policy positions
Requirements
- At least 4-5 years of experience formulating complex policy positions
- Comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy
- Knowledge of UK public policy, ideally transport or aviation (not essential)
- BA or BSc Hons in subjects such as politics, economics or public policy
- A Master’s degree would be advantageous
- Relevant degree apprenticeships would also be considered
- Background in economics and/or quantitative data analysis
- Experience of providing data-driven insights
- Strong understanding of Parliamentary process
- Good knowledge of the workings of government
- Adept at building relationships internally and with subject matter experts (SMEs)
