Drive the strategic agronomic direction using market insights and industry feedback, while elevating the Grow Teams’ reputation.
Build strong relationships with academia, extension, government, and manufacturer partners; collaborate on training, new products, and shared agronomic priorities.
Partner with Marketing to communicate Co op Agro’s technical expertise, ensure accuracy of agronomic content, and share Grow Team strategies with manufacturer partners.
Lead agronomic training strategy—setting annual objectives, delivering technical and soft skill training, and ensuring GTAs effectively support local Grow Teams through coaching and in field development.
Lead and continuously improve the field trial program by setting annual direction, sharing objectives and data insights with stakeholders, and partnering with Marketing to communicate key messages internally and externally.
Lead the strategy, targets, and continued development of the GWP and 4R programs; explore integration with broader sustainability and traceability platforms; partner with Marketing to communicate key messages; collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on validation, brand, and training initiatives; and provide forward-looking recommendations on sustainable production trends to Commodity Managers and Grow Teams.
Work with the Digital Ag Manager to understand needs and develop a training plan for successful digital ag uptake at Local Co-ops; set training direction, deployment, and success measures with GTAs; lead GTAs in supporting ongoing digital ag platform adoption—including dynamic farm planning and intelligent field scouting—and clearly articulate to Local Co-ops the benefits (“WIIFM”) of consistent use of digital ag and related platforms such as CRM.
Requirements
Have 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in sales or research experience in agriculture.
Have a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
A license to practice agrology (PAg) or a Certified Crop Advisor designation is required.
