Independent and ongoing procurement market analysis and supplier sourcing
Conduct profitability and TCO analyses; develop and implement the global purchasing and supplier strategy for the steel commodity (raw material)
Responsible for building and expanding an international steel supplier pool
Lead focused, efficient and successful price negotiations covering quantities, prices, delivery schedules, delivery terms, cost allocations and guarantees
Prepare raw material reports and consolidate similar material requirements based on planning data to optimize purchasing conditions
Act as a driver for material and process standardization; develop and optimize processes within the commodity groups
Develop and expand the international steel purchasing strategy in close cooperation with internal stakeholders
Ensure contractual requirements and conclude purchasing contracts (framework agreements, etc.)

Completed technician qualification (e.g., Techniker) with solid commercial knowledge; a technical degree is desirable
Several years of experience in strategic purchasing, ideally in the steel industry or at a steel merchant in purchasing or sales of steel (raw material)
Established network within the steel industry across Europe and Asia
Perseverance, self-motivation and strong self-organization skills
Strong negotiation skills; reliable, a team player and goal-oriented
Comfortable working independently in a conceptual and structured manner
Business-fluent English (spoken and written); additional language skills desirable
