Provide leadership and operational governance across the scientific communications function
Lead the strategy and execution of publications, medical education and congress deliverables
Coordinate and quality-control Medical Affairs-delivered external communications across functions
Chair Grants and Sponsorships Review Committee and set educational areas of interest
Evaluate medical grant requests for scientific merit and educational rationale
Own the medical education grants budget and operational controls
Oversee content development model for efficient creation of medical education materials
Lead Medical Affairs congress strategy for congresses
Coordinate congress tactical planning
Ensure congress deliverables incorporate the latest approved key messages
Conduct and oversee monthly literature searches for assigned indications
Requirements
PharmD, MD, or PhD in a related life sciences discipline. An equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered
6+ years’ experience across scientific communications and medical affairs in life sciences
Breadth of experience across at least one of: publication strategy and plan management; medical education grants strategy and management; or congress strategy and execution, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry, small-molecule biopharmaceuticals
Understanding of compliance frameworks and standards (including, but not limited to, ACCME and IME guidelines, ICMJE recommendations, Good Publication Practice (GPP) guidelines, and Sunshine Act provisions)
Ability to translate evidence from data readouts into clear, approved key messages and content direction
Understanding of publication strategy management tools and systems (e.g. Polarix; Pub Strat Max)
Embrace innovative methods to enhance or amplify scientific communications
Experience directing or reviewing scientific writing and content development, preferably in nephrology and/or rare diseases
Ability to travel 20 to 25% of your time domestically and internationally for congresses
