Support the project team in developing site analyses for existing conditions
Support the project team in developing and applying parcel prioritization methodologies to identify sites for affordable housing development
Provide guidance on city-related design standards and guidelines and how they impact project team zoning and land use related work
Create graphics including diagrams, renderings, site plans, elevations, axonometrics to illustrate massing, and perspective drawings, as needed, based on project requirements
Use outputs from data and mapping software to demonstrate the impacts of various zoning actions, needs, and opportunities
Assist with preparing graphics for project presentations adhering to Enterprise graphic standards
Provide policy, strategy, and research support to advance land use and zoning actions in select cities/counties
Requirements
Current graduate student in an accredited architecture and/or urban design program, or a recent graduate of a graduate-level architecture and/or urban design program
Proficiency in graphic design software with programs such as AutoCAD, Rhino, Lumion, the Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp
Experience in a professional setting or through coursework with reviewing and applying zoning code, surveys, and other site due diligence to site designs
Experience in a professional setting or through coursework in urban design.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong graphic translation skills with the ability to take analytical outputs and legibly represent them through graphics and illustrations
Strong grammar, editing, and proofreading skills to produce high-quality written products
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely express thoughts and ideas verbally and in writing
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities and responsibilities to meet deadlines
Capable of taking direction and working within a team to collaboratively meet the project objectives
Understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing local governments on housing supply, land use, and zoning
Familiarity with how land use and zoning has impacted housing development and has contributed to displacement and other inequitable practices.
