Role Overview
- Create highly detailed technical designs for additions and modifications to the distribution and transmission utility systems
- Independently and under the direction of senior designers and engineers manage concurrent projects related to designing Substation electric facilities
- Prepare construction drawings, documents, calculations, and studies for medium and high voltage substation projects
- Responsible for technical delivery of power delivery engineering projects or tasks
- Prepare calculations, studies, and reports for substation and power systems projects meeting internal and client standards and requirements
- Work with small project teams to execute substation projects
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in the Substation Design/Power Delivery Field
- Experience with physical layouts, electrical elevations, plans (foundation, grounding, and raceway), and bills of materials including selection of non-standard equipment
- Ability to interpret and apply standards including IEEE, IEC, NESC, and client standards
- Experience with power system calculations (AC panel sizing, DC panel and battery sizing, Voltage Drop Calculations, Cable Sizing, etc.) is a plus
- Knowledge of substation physical equipment is required.
