Guide the design of scalable semantic and reporting layers
Ensure analytics outputs are trusted, performant and decision-ready
Partner with Data Engineering and business stakeholders
Translate complex insurance data into actionable insights that drive growth and operational excellence
Lead and continuously improve Coterie’s BI and reporting architecture
Contribute directly to data transformation and modeling in Gold and Platinum Medallion layers
Develop, design and maintain high-impact dashboards, reports, and datasets
Establish and evolve analytics best practices around data modeling, metric definition, documentation, security and self-service enablement
Manage and mentor a small BI team, providing technical guidance and coaching
Coordinate and drive both near-term and longer-term BI initiatives
Support complex ad-hoc analysis and data investigation as needed
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Mathematics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Advanced experience with Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, security and performance tuning
Strong SQL proficiency, with practice writing complex queries
Experience in managing or coaching data professionals
Strong understanding of data models, dimensional modeling concepts and table joins
High attention to detail, strong ownership mindset and comfort operating autonomously in a fast-paced environment
Ability to think both strategically and tactically, balancing long-term architecture with immediate business needs
Experience working with insurance-related data, such as loss experience, premium production, underwriting or operational metrics
