Ability to review and understand engineering standards and drawings
Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and return defective items.
Maintain detailed records of purchases and supplier performance.
Prepare reports on inventory status, usage trends, and cost analysis.
Negotiate prices, terms, and contract with supplier to ensure cost-effective procurement.
Manage purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality or delivery.
Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with company standards.
Analyze inventory data to forecast future purchasing needs.
Conduct cost analyses to identify areas for potential savings.
Monitor spending against budget and report variances to management.
Identify opportunities for process improvements in procurement and supply chain management.
Participate in cross-functional teams to implement best practices and improve efficiency.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university;
and as a minimum three (3) years of procurement experience in the power generation industry; or, eight(8) years of procurement experience; or, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities has been achieved.
MBA/ ISM/ APCIS Members/ CSCM or CPIM, preferred.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP.
Travel up to 10%.
