About this role
Role Overview
Global responsibility for managing the commodity group, acting as the commodity owner and purchasing expert for the relevant manufacturing processes: turning, milling and gear cutting.
Continuous analysis of international procurement markets to identify new suppliers, processes and technologies.
Implementation of sustainable cost optimizations while ensuring quality and supply security.
Identification, qualification and further development of suppliers, and building and maintaining a high-performing preferred supplier portfolio.
Development and implementation of a global commodity strategy in close collaboration with cross-functional international teams.
Execution of global tenders, benchmark analyses and international contract negotiations.
Definition and management of targets and budgets for the commodity group, including ensuring target achievement.
Close cooperation with supplier quality and central logistics to continuously improve performance and product quality.
Establishment and implementation of a robust risk and crisis management framework for the commodity group.
Requirements
Completed technical or business degree, e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
Several years of professional experience in strategic procurement, ideally in the mechanical engineering sector.
Strong technical understanding as well as pronounced analytical and strategic skills.
Experience in leading international teams (functional leadership) and managing change processes.
Assertiveness, strong negotiation skills and a solution-oriented approach to conflict resolution.
Intercultural competence and enthusiasm for global collaboration.
Willingness to undertake regular national and international business travel.
Fluent spoken and written English; additional foreign languages are an advantage.
