About this role
Role Overview
Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes for Nutrien Financial to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
Manage general ledger accounting, journal entry review, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
Ensure adherence to IFRS and internal accounting policies.
Lead operational excellence initiatives to strengthen controls, streamline workflows, and enhance reporting accuracy.
Review the preparation of internal financial statements and management reporting packages and prepare additional ad‑hoc reporting as needed.
Support external reporting requirements including audit requests, footnote schedules, and supplemental analysis.
Collaborate with Corporate Accounting and External Reporting teams to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
Serve as a key liaison during internal and external audits.
Lead the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and multi‑year financial plans.
Analyze business performance, trends, and KPIs to provide insights and decision‑making support to leadership.
Partner with cross‑functional teams to understand operational drivers and financial impacts.
Develop dashboards, models, and reporting tools to improve financial visibility and accountability.
Manage monthly management reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and variance commentary.
Work closely with business leaders to understand results, provide financial guidance, and identify risks and opportunities.
Deliver clear, concise financial insights to senior management and cross‑functional stakeholders.
Lead and develop a high‑performing team of accountants and analysts.
Provide coaching, training, and professional development to support team growth.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Participate in various projects as requested.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in accounting or finance
CPA preferred
Minimum eight years of relevant business experience with people leadership
Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS
Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) with a focus on advanced Excel skills
Strong experience with Power BI is preferred.
