Drive technology advancements from a Shaftline System, subsystem, component, and material/life vantage points.
Work seamlessly with cross-functional teams (Drafting/Sourcing/Manufacturing) to execute and deliver team PLM tasks on-time with quality.
Partner with Product Line, Application Engineering, Product Service, and SILs to drive platform strategy for product structuring and technology enhancements.
Identify and leverage other external team best practices, across Gas Power Engineering to drive productivity and technology.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
6+ years engineering experience
Advanced engineering degree (desired).
4+ years experience in Steam Turbine component design, including ST design process & procedures (desired).
Demonstrated excellence applying fundamentals of Mechanical Design, including material properties, statics, strength of materials, fluid dynamics, lifing methods related to fatigue (LCF & HCF) and creep (desired).
Finite Element Analysis (ANYSIS) capability (desired).
Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt Certified (GE Employees only) (desired).
System Design experience (desired).
Demonstrated clear thinker, with ability to manage conflict and derive solutions to complicated problems (desired).
Demonstrated Project leadership skills with the mindset to handle several competing tasks (desired).
Familiarity with the full manufacturing process including: fabrications, machining, and factory assembly/testing practices, specifically as applied to power generation equipment (desired).
