Lead day‑to‑day warehouse and logistics operations across multiple sites, ensuring safe, high‑performing service delivery.
Ensure activities comply with Ministry of Defence logistics requirements, quality standards and safety regulations.
Drive continuous improvement, including digital transformation and automation to optimise layout, processes and systems.
Manage budgets and key performance indicators, forecasting and reporting to internal and customer forums.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders (Ministry of Defence, DE&S, suppliers and internal teams) while leading, mentoring and developing a large, diverse team.
Requirements
Proven leadership in warehouse or logistics management, ideally in a defence or secure environment.
Strong understanding of Ministry of Defence logistics systems, protocols and policies.
Demonstrated capability in budget management and strategic planning.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving skills.
Experience resolving complex logistical challenges with minimal operational disruption.
Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management (or equivalent).
Professional logistics qualification or membership (e.g., CILT).
Desirable Lean or continuous improvement certification (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Green Belt)
