Provides comprehensive nursing services including, but not limited to: patient histories, vital signs, phlebotomy, obtaining urine specimens for various tests, obtaining capillary and venous blood samples.
Provides immunizations according to CDC guidelines and protocols.
Performs screenings such as hearing, vision, height, and weight.
Issues medications under nurse protocols or physician/ARNP direction.
Provides patient health education and counseling.
Assists medical providers in the clinics and with procedures.
Assures accurate and complete medical record documentation in Electronic Health Record format.
Assures patient care and work areas are maintained in a safe and orderly fashion.
Provides triage of patient needs and determines appropriate follow-up.
Reports immediately to the Nursing Director or Assistant Nursing Director, any areas of concern.
While conducting clinics, this position provides health education and counseling for clients.
Maintains treatment records along with interpreting physician orders and recommendations.
Maintains a knowledge base concerning all Public Health Programs such as but not limited to: Chronic Disease, Tuberculosis, and Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Epidemiology, HIV and Immunizations.
Completes Rabies investigation training and assists with investigation Animal Bite Reports as they relate to potential need to Prophylaxis and medical follow up.
Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
Requirements
Free and clear license as a registered nurse
One year experience as a registered nurse
Willing to travel between Dixie, Gilchrist and Levy County Health Departments
Have a driver's license
Basic computer skills
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.
