About this role
Role Overview
This is a specialized Health Support Specialist position in the Florida Department of Health in Broward County WIC Program.
The caseload consists of pregnant and postpartum women, infants and children up to the age of five.
Work requires independent judgment and decision making and must follow federally regulated procedures.
Work is performed in the WIC clinic under the supervision of the Public Health Nutritionist Supervisor.
Incumbent in this position may be asked to travel to several clinic locations.
The incumbent is expected to communicate (by phone, e-mail, or in person) in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
This position is designated as a sensitive position and is required to maintain confidential information in accordance with the Florida Department of Health in Broward County Information Security policies, protocols and procedures.
Performs anthropometric measurements according to DOH, BCHD policies, procedures and protocols.
Operates and maintains anthropometric equipment essential to required duties.
Requirements
Experience working in a WIC office performing eligibility and benefit issuance
Experience taking anthropometric and hematological data
Experience with customer service in person and on the phone
Willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency
This position requires current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
