Participate in the formulation of national launch strategies for new products and serve to orchestrate regional tactical execution.
Deliver new approved products’ presentations after launch, to ensure education and knowledge of customers and support AMs’ selling process.
Educate and train physicians, clinical personnel, including OR staff on Alcon ATIOL and base lenses to ensure a successful outcome for the patient.
Answer a wide range of question concerning applications, as well as clinical technique related to ATIOL and base lens implants.
Provide ongoing support on patient selection, biometry calculation, keratometry, IOL selection and reimbursement.
Demonstrate clinical competence and product knowledge to customers ( Physicians, Nurses, Technicians ) during each presentation and irrespective of existing or non-existing relation, fostering perception of Alcon’s excellence in the surgical field.
Support perception of Alcon’s products (IOLs and new products) as top of line, helping customer understand a product’s benefits from a clinical as well as from a business perspective, via targeted account planning.
Support Account Managers Business plan execution through excellent presentations and identification of further training and support needs in customers.
Completion of all administrative tasks in a timely manner including (but not limited to) CRM completion.
IOL Specialists, through their expertise and commitment, is a key contribution to Alcon perception in the eyes of the customers.
Liaising with AMs and under the supervision of ASD’s/Assoc Dir of Marketing, IOL PS will assist 20-25 key targets accounts in maximizing their business potential through practice development initiatives and clinical expertise, resulting in increased sales of the Alcon Intraocular Lens Products and related diagnostic equipment.
Provides Practice development services to help target accounts prepare for successful adoption of Alcon Refractive IOL technologies. These include customer service audits, operational efficiency / scheduling reviews, strategic planning and internal / external marketing and communication.
Responsible for effective expenditure of company resources & money. Productive utilization of time.
Provide practice-development services to prepare clinics for refractive technologies.
Support regional marketing plans and limited market releases.
Collaborate with Account Managers to define regional targets and complete CRM tasks.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Preferred: B.Sc., B. Comm.
3–5 years pharmaceutical, medical, or surgical sales experience; ophthalmic preferred.
Clinical competence with understanding of cataract/refractive procedures.
Strong communication, presentation, and business‑acumen skills.
Proficiency with MS Office and CRM systems.
Must reside in the Greater Vancouver or Victoria Island area.
Travel up to 40%
Regular territory travel; additional North America travel may be required. Evening/weekend travel for meetings, conferences, and OR support.
Preferred Qualifications:
Surgical ophthalmology selling experience.
Practice‑development or new‑technology launch experience.
