Structure and write original, compelling, professional reports, briefing notes and commentaries for publication
Conduct robust and cutting-edge data analysis, financial modelling, and risk evaluation to assess carbon capture and storage projects and markets
Collect data from established datasets and credible sources, including horizon scanning for energy and finance news through articles, annual reports, investor presentations, and industry reports
Serve as a spokesperson, creating and delivering presentations for public, media, social media, and industry briefings
Engage with relevant external stakeholders (e.g. investors, project partners, government departments, media) to share research findings
Work collaboratively with IEEFA colleagues in Australia and globally to ensure research alignment and effective communication approaches
Commitment to IEEFA’s mission to accelerate the transition to a diverse, sustainable, and profitable energy economy

Requirements
4-7 years of demonstrated experience in energy or a related field
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, engineering and/or with professional certifications (e.g. CFA) or appropriate and relevant market-oriented experience in lieu of those degrees
Ability to critically analyze technology performance, risk and cost data, and to draw credible conclusions in data-poor contexts
Proven ability to assess issues and opportunities, analyze information from multiple sources, and make sound decisions that reflect available facts, constraints, and likely outcomes
Ability to identify opportunities and build strategic relationships internally and externally to support IEEFA’s mission
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information and ideas
Experience presenting ideas effectively to individuals or groups, with presentations tailored to the needs and characteristics of the audience
Demonstrated track record of high attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance
Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, using shared documentation systems and multiple communication tools (e.g., video calls, Signal), and proactively raising questions or issues as they arise
