Oversees all office functions for a seafood processing plant.
Runs the office, supervises employees.
Ensures the timeliness and accuracy of office functions such as A/P, A/R, fish ticket entry, production reports, fisherman settlements, inventory, purchasing, onsite store, journal entries, G/L reconciliation and month end closing.
Maintains compliant paper and electronic business records.
Responsible for training employees in accounting and office procedures.
Supports corporate policies and initiatives and maintains positive relationships with the fishing fleet and employees.
Requirements
3+ years of office manager accounting experience, preferably in the Alaska seafood industry.
Experience with Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADFG) fish tickets.
Proven ability to manage employees, accounting and office functions.
Working knowledge of good accounting practices.
Influential, collaborative, professional demeanor.
Effective oral and written communications.
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
Ability and willingness to work in a remote area of Alaska for 4 months each year.
Ability to work long hours, seven days a week, during the production seasons.
Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
