Facilitates all functional activities in the Ottawa Site Chem-Ops Production Area
Responsible for EHS&S compliance, manufacturing capabilities, quality and service performance
Process improvement, cost optimization to meet financial budgets
Manages a total organization includes roughly 60 personnel with 6 direct reports
Reports directly to the Ottawa Site Sr. Mgr.
Identifies and communicates operating unit goals and technology plans
Demonstrates leadership by assigning people appropriate decision rights
Develops and drives implementation of capital projects that support improvement initiatives
Manages personal development and the development of direct reports

9-12 years experience in a chemical manufacturing environment required
Engineering degree, chemical engineering degree preferred
5-7 years management/leadership experience preferred
Ability to inspire and guide others toward identifying and achieving vision and goals; provides purpose and direction
Ability to give encouragement, guidance and direction to others to improve performance
In depth understanding of unit operations, process equipment and technology
Insistence on challenging the status quo and a drive for continuous improvement
Ability to modify interpersonal style, to use listening and feedback skills to build understanding, and effectively manage conflict
Ability to listen generously and practice open advocacy
