About this role
Role Overview
Identify and secure multi-year revenue opportunities focused on Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) and screening programmes
Develop partnership models aligned to ICB and system-level strategies for population health and early diagnosis
Work with clinical and operational teams to ensure services meet national and local screening and governance requirements
Convert short-term service arrangements into longer-term diagnostic partnerships supported at Trust and ICB level
Structure agreements that align clinical outcomes, financial sustainability, and system priorities
Act as the senior commercial lead for complex, multi-year, or multi-site partnerships
Lead strategic discussions with NHS Trust Divisional Managers and Executives, ICB leadership, and system partners
Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with senior NHS decision-makers
Influence service design and commissioning approaches through credible, informed engagement
Own the long-term partnership pipeline from opportunity identification through to contract signature
Develop and present robust business cases and financial models suitable for Trust and ICB-level decision-making
Lead or support commercial negotiations in collaboration with legal, finance, and delivery teams
Maintain current understanding of national and regional NHS diagnostics and screening policy
Requirements
Results-driven, with a strong focus on quality and the strategic development of Community Diagnostic and screening partnerships
Proven ability to engage and influence senior NHS stakeholders, including Board, Executive and ICB-level decision-makers
Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience in long-term contract negotiation, structuring and sustainable partnership models
In-depth understanding of NHS diagnostics, screening pathways, commissioning processes and system governance
Politically astute, with a clear grasp of NHS decision-making structures and system dynamics
Partnership-oriented, balancing commercial outcomes with patient benefit and wider system impact
Highly effective in cross-functional collaboration, working across clinical, operational, commercial and finance teams
Confident in pipeline development, opportunity management and commercial prioritisation
Resilient and adaptable, able to operate effectively in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
Collaborative, values-led and credible, with a strong commitment to delivering high-impact, sustainable healthcare solutions
