Prepare, author, edit, and proof technical documents and program deliverables (e.g., system manuals, user guides, training materials, installation guides, proposals, reports) in accordance with the SOW and CDRLs.
Ensure all documents conform to program standards, Data Item Description (DID) requirements, and applicable templates.
Create and maintain document templates using styles and formats in MS Word.
Work closely with engineers, developers, testers, Release Train Engineers, users, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, define content, and capture data and media for documentation.
Perform quality assurance reviews on all contractual documentation and deliverables, ensuring comments and customer feedback are fully addressed.
Format, review, and submit contract deliverables and reports, ensuring proper configuration management (CM) and version control in coordination with Data Management staff.
Oversee the collection, organization, editing, and revision of documentation supporting complex computer systems and networks.
Apply and help guide implementation of CMMI Maturity Level 3 best practices for documentation and quality.
Manage multiple documentation efforts simultaneously with strong attention to detail, quality, and on-time task completion.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Writing, or related discipline and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
At least 5 years of experience as a full time dedicated Technical Writer on a large, complex technical program, creating, editing, and producing extensive documents, reports, CDRLs, and briefings for diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
Expert-level proficiency with advanced MS Word formatting and editing features.
Direct experience working with system engineers, software engineers, and program management to translate technical information into clear, concise documentation including user manuals and reports.
Excellent grammar skills (including punctuation, spelling, and usage).
Exceptional communicator, both verbally and in writing.
Experience planning, prioritizing, and managing multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Capable of performing high-quality work both individually and as part of a team.
Self-motivated problem solver who proactively takes initiative when issues arise.
Clearance Required: Must have TS/SCI with Polygraph.
