Ensure the total dimensional quality of products, specifically focusing on spot welding, hemming, sealer application, clinching, and pop riveting.
Responsible for accurately measuring quality according to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards and managing the status of control parts.
Request dimensional reports from customers and adjust fixtures to ensure final panel quality for buy-off.
Complete the Shim Book accurately post-adjustments, providing PMO and Mechanical support on-site as needed.
Ensure project milestones and delivery dates are met.
Work closely with customers and project timing plans to secure buy-off for invoicing.
Temporarily assume on-site management duties during increased workload or heightened project complexity.
Handle warranty interventions and coordinate on-site responses as needed.
Requires 45% domestic travel and 15% international travel.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field of study.
Five (5) years of experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer, Assembly Engineer, Toolmaker, or related role where experience was gained.
Expertise in applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards (GD&T).
Production process knowledge including spot welding, hemming, sealer application, clinching, and pop riveting.
Adjusting fixtures and managing control parts to ensure quality.
Overseeing site operations during workload peaks or complex projects.
Project milestone tracking and ensuring project timelines and delivery dates are met.
Customer relationship management and securing buy-offs.
Warranty Intervention and Coordination.
Data-driven decision making to compile data and reports to guide fixture adjustments, quality assessments, and project decisions.
Analyzing dimensional reports, solving complex problems, and making informed data-based decisions.
