Under the direction of the Facility Planning Program Director, this position assists and manages the development, implementation, and oversight of system-wide design standards.
It ensures that planning, design, and construction activities across all care sites align with established standards and construction requirements.
This position is responsible for maintaining and promoting consistency in the application of unified design standards to deliver a cohesive throughout the healthcare system.
It integrates regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and operational needs into the design and construction standards.
This position also serves as a key representative of Intermountain Health, collaborating with external Architects, Engineers, Contractors, State Agencies, Building Officials, Vendors, etc.
Shift: Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm will require some travel to care sites periodically.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.
OR
Associate's degree and equivalent years' experience.
Three (3) years of work experience in planning/design/construction operations.
Knowledgeable in principles of architecture, engineering, interior design, and construction.
Demonstrated knowledge of FGI, NFPA (13, 99, 101, etc.), and ICC/IBC codes.
Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Facility Design and Construction Administration and Management.
Demonstrated knowledge to understand and interpret Construction Scheduling, Building Codes, Contract Documents, Construction Process Documents, Estimates, and Building Standards.
Knowledge and/or experience with Environment of Care/Infection Control requirements.
Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail and scheduling applications.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
