Repair Engineer will responsible for performing repair, rework, and functional testing of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) to ensure quality and reliability.
Conducts inspections, executes engineering change order (ECO) upgrades, and maintains accurate repair data.
Applies established procedures and quality standards to identify faults, implement corrective actions, and support continuous process improvement while ensuring compliance with ISO QMS and safety requirements.
Conduct initial reviews for Incoming Quality Control (IQC) and Production line returned fault board.
Execute rework, repair and implement Engineering Change Order (ECO) upgrades for various Repair Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs), including motherboards, backplanes, riser cards, and Add-On Cards (AOCs).
Perform ECO upgrades on all in-stock PCBAs in accordance with ECO documentation.
Conduct Visual Inspection (VI) and functional testing for motherboards, backplanes, riser cards and AOCs.
Assist in comprehensive data collection of inspection results and defects repair information.
Adhere to all ISO quality management system (QMS) procedures and work instructions to ensure consistent repair quality and process integrity.
Strictly follow all established safety protocols and health guidelines when handling tools, equipment and hazardous materials, promoting a safe working environment.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or related technical field is highly preferred.
Candidates with a Diploma or relevant technical certification will also be considered if they possess hands-on experience; ideally 3 years in repairing defective motherboards and PCBA.
Candidate who has at least 2 years of proven experience in computer PCBA repair, including troubleshooting and component-level rework will be an advantage.
Demonstrated ability to identify root causes of electronic component failures and implement effective repair solutions is a plus.
Familiarity with various testing equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators) and diagnostic tools used in PCBA repair will be advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose complex technical issues on electronics boards.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to document repair procedures, report findings and collaboration effectively with internal stakeholders such as Production and Engineering department.
Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
As the role engages with stakeholders in Taiwan, familiarity with Taiwanese business culture is valuable.
Proficiency in multiple languages will be considered an advantage.
