We are seeking a new Head of Finance to join SEB’s New York branch.
As our next Head of Finance you will also be the CFO of SEB Securities Inc, our broker-dealer.
You will assume responsibility of overseeing the financial reporting and budgeting processes for the Bank’s operations in the United States.
You will report directly to the local Chief Operating Officer (COO) and indirectly to the US Country Manager.
You will be the main contact between Head Office and the New York Branch for any Finance related matters.
Working closely with central functions responsible for delivering Group-wide financial figures, you will provide timely insights and up-to-date financial information to local management.
You will be tasked with preparation of reports to the US and Swedish regulatory authorities, and financial forecasts.
You’ll contribute valuable insights to various Head Office reports and interact with regulatory examiners and internal and external auditors.
You’ll be the guardian of accuracy, investigating any unusual balances and meticulously maintaining our accounting systems and general ledgers.
Occasionally you will assist in implementing appropriate accounting practices and techniques relating to products.
Requirements
Have a relevant university degree and at least 5 years' work experience in accounting and/or financial reporting.
Have good time management skills and an analytical mind-set
Hold a series 27 FINRA license
Enjoy working across all parts of the Finance function including accounting, tax, budgeting and follow up
Is skilled in the use of word processing and spreadsheet software (i.e. Word and Excel). Experience with accounting systems and SQL is desired.
Can build internal relations with the stakeholders on location as well as the ones in the Head Office and within Group functions.
Have previous experience from working at a foreign bank branch and/or broker dealer
Possesses good business acumen combined with a developed risk mindset.
